The road is still lined with a thick hedge of bushes, on which some tower some oaks (downy oak, quercus pubescens). These, in the past time, must have been far more numerous, so much so as to name two farms and the same Villa dell’Apparita Querceto (Oak grove).
The house of the estate Querceto I, mentioned in the Carte Catastali as Querceto alla Catena (Oak grove chain), has been restored and converted into a private home in the eighties of the twentieth century. The term “chain” refers to a road obstruction that had been placed at the beginning of the last century by the then owner.
The farmhouse Querceto II, also known as the Casa Rossa (Red House), is located next to the villa dell’Apparita.
