Founded in 2012, it aims to promote a unified management and programming model for museum spaces and events, increasing a network of activities and exchanges amongst the many local museums. The system offers an interesting museum and nature itinerary just outside Florence, thanks to the collaboration of the Tuscan Region and all the municipalities involved.

The following institutions take part in the area’s museum network, as well as numerous archaeological sites: the Antiquarium di Sant’Appiano (Barberino Val d’Elsa), the Pieve di San Leonino (Rignano sull’Arno), the Museo di San Francesco (Greve in Chianti), the Museo di San Casciano, the Museo del Tesoro (Impruneta), the Museo d’Arte Sacra di Tavarnelle Val di Pesa, the Oratorio di Santa Caterina and l’Antico Spedale del Bigallo (Bagno a Ripoli), the Museo Masaccio d’Arte Sacra di Cascia and il Museo dell’Abbazia di Vallombrosa (Reggello), the Museo Emilio Ferrari della cultura contadina (San Donato in Poggio, Tavarnelle), the Museo d’Arte Sacra della Collegiata di Santa Maria, the Museo dell’Oratorio del Crocifisso, the Antica Spezieria Serristori and the Fondazione Giovanni Pratesi (Figline and Incisa Valdarno).
