B&B Casignano

Maurizio, an Italian architect, with Christina, an American citizen from Hawaii, has restored from 2008 to 2015 all the buildings and Casignano property in accordance with the strictest principles of philological restoration. They are characterized by love of nature, art, good food made with their organic products and their animals. In fact, they raise equine species threatened by extinction in perfect freedom: mousey donkeys from the Amiata, a Monterufoli filly and a TPR mare with which they make great excursions in the woods.

In 2008, they opened the BB Casignano, Platinum level ECOLEADER, with the main purpose of exchanging ideas and experiences with all citizens of the world, allowing them to experience this uncontaminated place with beautiful landscapes. And so it has been, to the greatest satisfaction of all: so much so it has been ranked first for many years among all accommodation in Bagno a Ripoli on Tripadvisor and Booking.com

The Marquises Rinuccini of Florence built the Casignano complex in 1710, consisting of a beautiful farmhouse and a barn refined by almond tiles. Even if it is only 11 km from the center of Florence it remains immersed in an unspoilt corner of the Chianti hills surrounding Florence.

Park and communal areas

50000 sq.m. park, fully fenced, with a great variety of fruit trees and forest species, 4 green areas, a covered loggia and terrace, overlooking a wide sweep of the Tuscan-Romagnolo Apennines.

Guests have at their disposal, as well as the dining room and living room with fireplace, a dining room open 24 hours a day with a table, chairs, refrigerator and complimentary refreshments with 6 varieties of tea, coffee, cappuccino and milk.

Rooms

The rooms are furnished with antique furniture all from our family. They take the name of their owners such as Grandma’s room, the Notary room, the Bishop’s room and the Farmer’s room. Each has its own bathroom completely refurbished in 2009 and each room is equipped with a television. Free Wi-Fi, fan and heating.

*Tourist apartments– Holiday homes

Besides the B&B rooms, from 1 April to 31 October each year, clients can have at their disposal 2 cottages of various finely furnished and equipped types, rented “exclusively for tourist purposes”, as specified by Article 1 paragraph 1 and 2 of the Law 431/1998.
