Bagno a Ripoli Trekking Group

The Bagno a Ripoli Trekking Group was founded in 1987 on the initiative of ten friends who had attended the Trekking Course organized in 1986 by the Asessorato allo Sport (Local Authority Sports Department).

After the first meetings held at the Osteria Nuova Association, the Group moved to the SMS di Bagno a Ripoli, where it still meets every Tuesday to organize, prepare and plan excursions for the program. Here it has a dedicated area for equipment, technical material, books and maps. The meetings are open to all those who want to meet us and maybe join in order to participate in our activities.

“Discover the world walking”

The Trekking Group’s activities can be summarized by these words, which proposes long or short excursions to be performed exclusively on foot, and offers you the opportunity, in addition to physical activity, to observe, discover and learn every time…

The annual program, with one or more day excursions every two weeks, visits the mountains, hills and plains of our region and the rest of Italy.

A peculiarity of the Group is the common participation of all in the creation of the program. The shareholder is not a mere spectator or a passive observer but is an active part of the life of the Group, in a relationship of exchange and friendship amongst people who are passionate about experiencing a safe and well organized hike, bearing aspects of awareness and are development in mind.

The Trekking Group and the Bagno a Ripoli territory:

The Trekking Group has traveled the Bagno a Ripoli territory since its inception and contributed to the discovery and awareness of its every corner.

On the occasion of its twenty-five anniversary the Group has created a route called “VILLAGES AND HILLS“, which runs for 43 km between Grassina and Bagno a Ripoli through picturesque, ancient, welcoming and accessible places for anyone who wants to discover the world walking.

This route is documented by the homonymous publication (together with a map) in Italian and English, available at the Group. The entire course is marked with white and red “B.C.” signs.
